Big town with flair
Discover the colonial flair of the dynamic metropolis on the Pacific coast: The old town, the so-called “Casco Viejo”, is known for lively, beautiful plazas and imposing buildings and the fantastic view of the city skyline. In our renowned partner hotel Central you will stay first class in the middle of this historic ambience. In contrast, our partner hotel Principe in the “Barrio Cangrejo”, on the edge of the Financial District, offers gastronomic highlights and pulsating city life in the immediate vicinity. Both hotels arrange a range of excursions within the city famous for its skyline, to the famous Panama Canal or to the picturesque surroundings.

Immerse yourself in the tropical rainforest. A colorful plant and animal world as well as impressive jungle landscapes present themselves around the lodge in many colors and shapes. Our local guides will accompany you and lead you to the special locations with endless endemic animal and plant species, from colorful tucans in the air and leisurely sloths on the tree to the most beautiful orchid species. Due to clearly marked jungle trails, even independent hikes are possible. The lodge provides free rubber boots and walkie talkies for this purpose.

The Caribbean coastal forest is waiting to be discovered by you! Our knowledgeable local guides will lead you on winding paths through the rainforest and along the coast to settlements of the rainforest dwellers. Along the way you will pass a variety of colorful flower wonders as well as small waterfalls and other wonders of this extraordinary nature. Grandiose views over the lush green rainforest, the turquoise Caribbean Sea as well as extraordinary coastal formations make the heart of every nature lover beat a few beats faster. The lodge provides free rubber boots for this purpose.

In addition to the beautiful private beaches belonging to the lodge, the nearest of which is only 150 meters away, the others are accessible on foot or by boat. Whether you simply want to enjoy the absolute tranquility and the fantastic view of the turquoise Caribbean Sea, take a long walk on endless beaches or take an extensive Caribbean bath in the picturesque setting and watch the pelicans in their extraordinary fishing – for all this there is the right dream beach with the finest sand and the pleasantly temperate waters of the Caribbean!

River landscape by canoe
Deceleration is the order of the day with our dugout canoes handmade by the locals, which we provide for you free of charge. After a short introduction to the technique of dugout canoeing, you will paddle to the beach for a cool down in the Caribbean Sea or in the other direction up the river, past mangroves, fascinating rainforest sections and hermit-like farmers. Group tours with local guides living on the river take you into even the smallest branches of the river, providing many an amazement in flora and fauna.
River exploration
Excursion by motorboat
With the specially for the river available flat and low motorized boat our native captain will lead you deep into the wide branched net of the river and to especially beautiful river locations around the Rainforest Lodge. The one or other stop in between also allows interesting insights into the remote reclusive existence of the Panamanian natives and a multitude of unforgettable impressions of this close-to-nature life. The impressive untouched river landscape with its rich fish population and the species-rich life in and around the river is an experience you will never forget!

Immerse yourself in the original life of a typical Caribbean coastal village, be in the middle of it all, experience authentic culture: In Guazaro you can get to know the traditional life of the inhabitants in an unadulterated way. While enjoying local refreshments in typical local bars, you will observe the cozy daily life, the loading and unloading of small and larger boats and children immersed in play in the village square. On weekends you will also have the opportunity to attend local sporting and cultural events with enthusiastic supporters and interact with the locals.
